delta 1 rocks
« on: February 03, 2006, 11:09:16 PM »
Remember me...the low rev guy that bought his first Track
Man what a night.  Finally got this thing drilled up the way Ex recommended and left my old ball in the closet. Got a few balls down the lane in warmup to adjust and that was all I needed. The first 5...bam...this thing finishes hard. Never seen anything like it.  Start with 212 as I blow the 10th.  Then it really revs up...243.  I'm just ooozing with confidence now.  Last game....246.  How about 701...YES.  I've never even sniffed a 700 before.  I've only been bowling for about a year and my high series was around 630.
I could throw this ball down just about anywhere on the lane and get it to the pocket.  Inside a bit and it would slide down but still give me just enough motion before it hit to carry everything...that's where my old ball failed and left me 8-10 splits.  Outside... the pins were begging for mercy.  This thing came to the hole like a  freight train...pins just flying off the deck.
I can't wait to put some more games on this thing.
I love this ball....thank you guys for showing me the light....and thank you ex for the absolutely perfect layout...without even seeing me throw the ball
a new Trakie is born

Badpoly...
Welcome To Track world. Sounds like Ex make a good call for you, which he usually does. Keep your Track equipment clean on a regular basis and keep us posted on some more high games. I think the Delta 1 has been over looked by a lot of people. Congratulations on your high score once again, keep it going.

I guess I should should ask then...what do I use to keep it clean.  I was told mineral spirits or acetone work well...but found those are illegal from doing some reading.  What's the best?

badpoly,

Get yourself a bottle of Clean n Tacky (made by Track), a grey scotchbrite pad and that is all you will need.

The Delta comes 900grit OOB. So the cleaning method I suggest is:

Put the Clean n Tacky directly onto the scotchbrite pad and wipe it over half of the ball in small circular motions.....APPLY VERY LITTLE PRESSURE(this allows the scotchbrite to pull the dirt and oil out of the coverstock without leaving grit lines). Put a decent coat of Clean n Tacky on that half of the ball and let it sit for roughly 20 seconds, then wipe it off with a dry towel. Repeat this method on the other side of the ball.

Once you are done....use a damp towel to wipe the ball off. This will pull any residue that may be left over.

Goodluck,

Well...I cant seem to find slean and tacky anywhere.  Clean and smoot, clean and dull, clean and polish, magic shine, reaction shine, reaction plus ...but no clean and tacky

I agree; after plugging and redrilling a used one that I bought on eBay to try out, I rolled a 236 ... hmmmmmmmm, too strong and needs a wgt hole to get legal; had the pro shop hit it with a 1000 abralon pad and put thw wgt hole past my VAL and below the midline. PRESTO ... my first 300 (not sanctioned [practice] but on a burnt house shot.
Then, yesterday, after bowling 10 games of practice, I moved left to 30 [NOT my forte' to "swing it and bring it" ... 279 !!! Wow !!! Does this ball LOVE to move, and talk about continuous through the pin deck ... I LOVE this ball !!! Looking to pick up another and try it with a slightly weaker layout. I did this one wit a 3 5/8" pin below ring, MB pos#3, and the wgt hole outside of VAL and below ML.
I have been looking for a strong reactive ball for heavier oil patterns that I could trust, control, and just roll it ... thanx TRACK !!!
 Ball is a 10 out of 10 !!!

Hey Good bowling guy. I know Ex give great advise. When he tells you a layout for a ball it is usally the best way. I know I have rolled more 700's sence i started having him drill up my stuff. Now clean n dull and clean n tacky are the same thing with just minor changes like smell and thickness.
So have fun and keep up the good sets.
