We all Love track but, what balls do you not like?
« on: December 22, 2005, 01:18:39 PM »
I have liked them all except the Delta 1 and the Desert Heat.

Thought the desert Heat hit good but, no matter how I drilled it it tracked over the thumb????? Also, I thought on a dry lane it has lots of mid lane with a to be desired backend reaction. Thought the ball was to early. I tried 2 totally different drillings on it also. It is very overated IMO.

The Delta 1, thought it was a decent ball but, I didnt think it lived up to the hype. Thought the hitting power was mediocre for a "Track" (I expect more from a Track) and thought it was good on special conditions only for me!

I'm not really a HUGE fan of the Delta 1... But it's still pretty good. Better than most of the other brands I've thrown.

The most dissapointing Track ball I've thrown overall is probably the Xception. It works OK for me when lanes are breaking down, but it just doesn't have the hitting power that I've come to expect from track. My Heat is way better.

Forgot the Xception.  Not crazy about it either for the same reasons.

Michael's list of Track's biggest misses for 2005:
1. X-Ception 5.0 -- I have never had such horrible over/under this bad!!!
2. Hex-Plosion -- If you are watching the pattern, it seems Particle Pearl's do not agree with my style!!!

I have to back up the X-Ception and Desert Heat...the Desert works on dry great for me and doesn't track over the thumb hole or anything...and the X-Ception...3rd 300 Game and 1st 800 Series...nuff said!! I also like the reaction I get with the Rule Delta 1...anyways, we all differ but Track freaking rules!!! God Bless you all and have a Merry Christmas!!!

The Xception 5.0 was quite a disappointment for me.  It doesn't handle as much oil as I thought it would and it doesn't turn the corner as hard as I thought it would.  I'm not saying that I dislike the ball ... it just didn't live up to my expectations.  It doesn't handle carrydown as well as I hoped it would have.

I was hoping it would be a good replacement for the original Rule (for a med/heavy to heavy oil shot), but I guess I assumed wrong.  Nevertheless, it's great on a medium-oil shot as long as the backends are clean!

I've repeated over and over in this Track Forum and I say again that the Xception 5.0 is one of the worse Track balls I have owned. It simply does not match up to me. After waiting eagerly and was excited and couldn't wait to get it, I ended up overly disappointed with it. Didn't come close to my expectations. It really "let the air out of me" in regard to Track balls.

I had two xceptions(original) and they hit great but very inconsistent reaction wise.  I got rid of both of them in a hurry.  I think this ball was just too sensitive to dry.

surprised to see all the negative comments about the 5.0. eveyone who has one in my area seems to be looking for another one to add to their arsenal.

as far as dissapointment's go, i'd have to say the original rule was pretty blah for me. great hitting power, and for the first two weeks i used it, hooked a ton. loved it for two weeks then all of a sudden...poof! nothing. spare ball. tried everything to revive it. gave it to the guy at my pro shop who tried every trick in the book, nothing. oh well, i figured it this way. if track makes 1 ball a year i don't like that ain't that bad lol.

For me, the Super Freak, the ball just seemed to burn up no matter what the condition, Voodoo, sold it to a friend and he has 3 300's with it and the Freak Out, couldn't do anything with it, sold it to a another friend and he loves it. Some balls just don't work well for your style. I've got a Desert Heat and a Delta 1 and they both work great for me, but the conditions have got to be right for the Desert Heat or forget it.

And yet you're trying to get rid of a NIB one? If I had it, it would be secure in the bottom of the closet, just waiting for me one day!

Bartender, I was trying to go back to 15# balls and that is why I bought it as the one I use all of the time is 14#. However, at this point in time I am not doing well at converting back to 15# balls and there is only a 50-50 chance I will make it, so I decided to try to sell it. If I don't sell it by the end of year, I may put it up for awhile in case I did succeed at 15# as there are no more NIB 15's available. A few 16's, but no 15's.

Never liked the Animal, never hooked as much through heavy oil as was advertised.  The ball was great on medium oil though.

I might be tempted to buy it, Brickguy, if I hadn't got mine a couple of months ago from our distributor for $50...

Yeah. I understand. I could have gotten one at Buddies 2-3 months ago for something like $60-$70. I hesitated and when I decided to get one, there were no more 15's. I was hunting for one with the exact same specs as my 14# and after 2-3 weeks of searching, I found one but had to pay $99.
