505A
« on: October 17, 2009, 03:54:36 PM »
Hey folks, I wanted to stop and give you a couple of my thoughts on the new 505A.

With our current line up the 505A is an awesome addition. Without question it is the cleanest ball through the heads and midlane that we have. It is difficult to compare it to something that we have had in our line since being purchased by Ebonite International. I would say its reaction is a mixture of 2 of our previous bowling balls. It is goes very long and doesn't over read a pattern early (like the Kinetic Pearl), and it has a breakpoint similiar to the original Kinetic.

If you are having issues with a ball reading a pattern too much in the midlane this is the ball that you need to have in your hands. Bowlers with slower ball speeds and heavier hands will get alot of use out of this ball.

I am so tempted to get this ball in the next week or so. I did't realized how early and strong the 505C reacted off the dry but still love the consistent reaction I get from it. So if the 505A indeeds go longer than the 505C I may very well get this one.

The 715A is much much stronger down lane than the 505A. I have it about 6-8 stronger at the spot. The 505A is about 1-2ft longer as well. Take into consideration the OOB grit before the Powerhouse Factory Finish is applied, the 505A is 2000 and the 715A is 4000. The coverstock on the 715A is very strong even when compared to other balls on the market in the upper mid price point.

I drilled the 505A identical to the 505C. The 505A gets much more length, but it does retain energy better at the breakpoint than the 505C.

I'm disappointed that Track has added another long shiny pearl to their 4 ball line up.

I have finally drilled a second 505A and I drilled it to complement my first which the specs were posted here earlier. I have drilled the 2nd one with a 4 1/2" Pin up and MB at 45 degrees. No Hole and OOB Surface. I loved the first one I punched so as I drilled it stronger and pin down I figured this layout would give me a little more length and more pop on the backend when I need to get around the corner from inside.

This might be my favorite ball of the new line this year.

Billy,

Have you had a chance to compare the two that you drilled?  If so, what differences in reaction are you seeing, what conditions would you use each for, etc.  Thanks....John
