Title: desert heat
Post by: chitown on September 27, 2005, 02:20:01 AM
A lot of dry lane balls hit ok but nothing to write home about.  The desert heat is an exception.  My desert heat smashes the pins.  I get great pin action out of this ball.  Do you guys see the same thing with yours?

chi, just wondering, what is your PAP and how is yours laid out?
I'm planning on getting one of these punched up soon.

Thanks! Ramtart

Ramtart my pap is 5 over and 1/4 up.  Mine has the pin about 4" maybe 3 3/4" from pap.  The pin is next to the ring and the cg is close to the palm; no x-hole.  It looks like a label drill.  This actually smoothes out the high flying backend.  A nice strong arc.

If your going to use it for dry and have some hand then don't be afraid to drill it with the pin a little strong.  Great ball.  In fact this is a must have ball in an arsenal.  I also use mine for spares.  I can throw it straight as an arrow.

chitown, awesome man. Thanks for the help. My PAP is pretty close to yours (see profile). I'm definitely looking to add this as my Light Oil/Burnt Spare ball.
Also looking to add the Heat above the Desert and below the Slash.

Thanks!

I agree. The Desert still offers that great "TRACK" hit even for a ball meant for drier conditions.
