Robo Rule: Pin 3 1/2 from pap, just under fingers, MB 1 inch right of thumb
Power Machine: Pin 4 1/2 from pap, just above fingers, MB 1 in. right of thumb
Equation: Pin 4 1/2 from pap, 1 1/2 above fingers, GC 3 3/8 from pap w/X-hole
Desert Heat: 2 1/2 - 3 inch pin, 3 oz top weight
I track very high and need to keep the pin in the safe zone
I was considering pin 5 1/2 from pap and just above fingers, gc in palm?
Any Recommendations are appreciated

What is your PAP? Knowing that will help the Tag Team members recommend a layout. I have mine layed out with the pin under ring finger, CG in palm towards the thumb. For me, this is a 4 x 3 layout (my PAP is 4-1/4 x3/4).
You will like this ball and it fits nicely under the Equation. I'm not sure about using it for 10 pins. Haven't tried that myself.

But anyways, mines laid out with the pin below the fingers and the CG kicked. Very nice roll. I can play any line with that except for a deeper line because then it will just keep skidding. My Desert works very well on my lanes, and at this moment it's the first ball out of my bag (until i get the Equation). If you need to know anything else.. feel free to ask.

Rip it and it will hook...could get as much backend on mine as any of my higher line stuff.
I did find that it was better to play down the boards with it...carry was awesome playing this line.Tended to leave soft 10's when swinging it.

This layout will work very well if you are thinking of using it on the dirt or for a spare ball.
The Desert Heat is a very weak ball with a low differential, but drilled strong it will still hook more than most people want it to.

Trackoholic, just verifying data. Your Equation has the pin 1.5 above fingers and not mid line, correct? If so, then I'd also go above fingers with the Desert to help maintain a certain amount of separation in the bag. Hope this helps some...

I ordered it from bowling.com for 114 shipped. best deal I could find. They even called me with a pin and top weight clostest to my request and told me what the closest they had was. Quick shipping also.
The pin in my ring puts it about 5 inches from pap and the gc is in my grip center. I will post again once I try it tonight, Thanks again

desert heat will not handle any carrydown. use it on over reacting backends.
and keep it polished>>> track delayed reaction works well for that condition.
