Desert Heat layout
« on: October 19, 2005, 01:40:43 PM »
With my PAP between 4 5/8 to 4 3/4(trying to lower it) and 1/2 up, should I have this drilled strong since the ball is essential weak ??? Based on past info read and given, between 4" to 5" for Pin to PAP and between 2" to 4" for CG to PAP is what I've heard would work for my specs (in my profile).
 TIA ...

Laybzz74-

I would keep the pin high, preferably above your fingers, and if you wanted to use a drilling that would require a balance hole, make sure to have it be above your PAP.  Aside from keeping the pin and a possible balance hole high, I don't think it matters what you do from there.

Good luck with the Desert Heat...I really like mine!

I have mine drilled with the pin about 3.5" to pap with a label layout.  Great ball but I do wish that I would have drilled it a little weaker.  I'm going to buy another one and drill it with the pin above the ring(about 5" to pap for me) with the cg kicked right to 1oz.  This should make it go a little longer in the dry.  The one I have drilled label is a great ball but I would like one a little weaker so I can square up more on dry.

This is an awesome ball that for me can be used on light oil as well as dry.

Would agree anything between a 4x2 and 5x3 would be ok....mine is essentially laid out like so and is super on the dry stuff!

I have mine drilled 6 x 4 pin above middle finger and love it. Awesome on the dry stuff. The more energy retention the better. Drill it weak and keep it for the dirt.

After getting feedback in here and a chat with my pro shop, I've gone with a 4x2 layout, pin below my ring finger and a small weight hole to make it legal.
Thanx for the help !!! Feedback to follow ...
