Has anyone found the Desert Heat to be too strong on the backend?

I tried using it in my third game last night during league. I tried to play straight down the boards, which seems to be what this ball likes. When it got to the backend it took off! It was hard to control.

I have had success using this ball in other houses, even on a fresh oil, playing straight down 5. This ball has quite a backend, to the point where it sometimes hooks just as much as my Xception overall.

The ball is drilled with the pin above my ring and the CG is pretty much stacked. My PAP is around 4 3/8" over and 1 1/4" up.

I appreciate any information anyone might have.

My DH is quite strong also. I polished mine..2 coats of Finesse it 11,this toned it down , but I found you need to take the "hand" out of the shot.Use a nice weak release and this ball becomes super smooth,but still with superior carry.

I would apply a very good coat of Delayed Reaction. Try that and let us know how it works for you.

Hey cd,

Along with trying the Delayed Reaction, reduce some of your positive statics (pos side weight/finger). Remember, when we are able to use this ball, the lane will primarily be pretty dry. The drier the shot is, the more friction we create. By creating more friction, any imbalance in a ball is now more capable of showing itself.

Will the Delayed Reaction make the backend reaction more pronounced? The name makes me wonder that. The backend seems to be where this ball takes off. It has a bigger backend than any of my other equipment, even the Delta 1.

I understand the backend reaction you are getting....but saying it has more backend than the delta? Try to play the same line with it that you do the delta and see if the backend is more

Your question about Delayed Reaction......it really tames down a ball's movement in the backend of the lane. It is not like your normal polish.

Thanks for the reply. There is no doubt that I could NOT play the same line as the Delta, with the Desert Heat, and get the same amount of backend. I just mean relative to their own line, the backend of the DH is equal, if not more. It really surprised me.

I will have to try some Delayed Reaction, if I keep getting the same reaction. It seems if I find the right area on the lane the DH is an awesome ball. It is just a little picky about where I play with it. Also, the backend almost makes it a little too angular.

I can even use the DH on fresh oil if I stay outside of 5, where the dry typically is on a THS. I will play with it for a while.
