My Xception arrived yesterday. Its a 2nd (pin 4-5", 1.5 oz top weight). When I got to look at the ball, the cg was offline from the mass bias (the pin and the cg was in line, the mass bias was below and right of the cg):

Would I have problems with this ball being drilled? Excaliber answered my original question about the specs with a layout suggestion ("for a skid flip reaction placing the pin 4 1/2 - 4 3/4 from your PAP, keep the pin above your fingers, this helps create length. Place the MB 5 inches from your PAP, it will end up in an area near your thumb hole. This is the MB placement that is going to create the most "flip" off of the breakpoint."). Would this still work?

It's really the CG that's out of line. The MB is 6 3/4" from the Pin. Also, to find the true CG, the ball must be weighed, you cannot really totally on where it is marked.

I would drill the Rev leverage layout. Try to put the pin below the fingers and you will need a weight hole.  Layout  4x4 hole in the thuumb quad. If you use this layout you can expect a very aggressive early rolling ball.

this is a NONO for me.  you can always figure out the location of the CG when you weigh it.  but as for MB there's no way to tell unless you have the determinator.

if you don't have the determinator, i'd return that ball.  MB could very well be mis-marked and you'd not know about it.

so after you figure out the CG and MB using the determinator, if they don't align properly, you could very well have a blem or something.

i'd definitely be weary about drilling that ball (following MB/CG that might be mismarked).

ex,  i thought either cg or mb was mismarked or out of alignment?  and there's no way to verify the validity of the marked mb without determinator (since every proshop has dodoscale).
