Is the coverstock on the EXCEPTION much more aggressive than the cover on the SLASH?

I had the SLASH drilled up 4 x 5. I really like the ball. Have used it with success on medium oil, light oil and even a drier condition. On Track's web site they imply that it's for heavier oil. I've used it twice on heavier oil, with less than satisfactory results.
I'm thinking of buying a 2nd SLASH with a different layout, or an EXCEPTION drilled 4 x 5.

Ball is more aggressive than my ELITE was. It's a keeper / sleeper.

Hey Duke,

They mentioned that the ball can handle "even heavier oil" but not really for true heavy. The sanded cover is what can grab a little more in comparison to our polished covers but it really isn't for "heavy oil" as we define it here.

My Xception compared to the Slash is a much longer look and hard backend where the Slash picks up sooner and rolls more evenly (somewhat like the FAZ). I'd have to say drilled the same, these properties would still hold pretty true because of the advanced level of the Rev-Lever core. I don't see the Slash having that strong a backend reaction even polished compared to an Xception if they are both drilled to have good backend strengths. Hope this helps...

Once again, I agree with Ten. The X-Ception is designed to go long and have a huge backend, while the Slash's OOB surface makes it want to grab early. Obviously, dull balls grab earlier (roll sooner due to friction being created from the dull surface) and have less backend, and pearl/polished balls go longer (more skid due to less friction because of the pearl/polished surface) and saves more energy for the backend.

I agree, the Slash is a KEEPER. Great tourney ball for about anyone.

Duke,

2 totally different balls and totally different reactions. The Slash tends to roll earlier and the Xception gets down the lane with unmatched backend reaction. The core seperates the 2 for me. Where the Slash is fantastic at its price point, the Xception tends to perform better on different conditions.
