For those of you who have switched weights, is there any appreciable difference? I have a 15 and 16, and feel like i can get the ball down the lane much easier using my 15. All of my equipment is high end.
Am I losing anything in power?
Thoughts?

Same for me. I feel that I can get the ball to do alot more for me at 15 than a 16. As long as you dont boom the ball you wont wont lose alot in my opinion.

I was out of the game for 12 years and had elbow and shoulder trouble when I left. When I came back 4 years ago I went to all 15# and don't have the pain I did before. I still carry the same, so its not this thing with you have to use 16# to be a man...

Hey kc,
Superhitman makes a good point. For my customers, I normally only suggest going down in weight so long as they are not going to overpower or overthrow the ball. In actuality, if you can get more wrist action on a lighter weight, you can even create more revs and more power with that weight.
I went to 14lbs 4 years ago and avg and scores are still the same (lack of practice), maybe even slightly higher. Just shot another 300 on 10/25/05 and a 290 on 11/19/05 with D Pat in an adult/jr tourney. The lighter weight I feel actually helps me get more control. Hope this helps some...

I switched to 15 lbs from 16 lbs 2 years ago, and I feel like I have a much looser armswing, less fatigue and can bowl for longer periods of time without seeing a decrease in ball speed or scores. Longer tournaments used to wear me out at 16 lbs., now with 15 I can go 15-20 games in a day if necessary. I think my carry has been a little bit better as well since making the move.
