Dilemma time....league starts tonight and what to take...

Problem: I have a NIB Equation. Should I get it drilled and take it with me tonight for the first night of bowling this fall? In my bag right now are:

Mean Machine: heavy oil
Machine: medium/heavy
Arsenal Artillery: medium
Solution Power Plus Ex: medium/light
Desert Heat: dry
Columbia blue dot: spares.

I like the artillery a lot. But I keep reading about how good the Equation seems to be. So....should I put the artillery away and add the Equation or keep the Equation in the box for future use? It's a nice problem to have to be sure.

Hey Chuck,

For me, the Equation should actually fit between your Artillery and Solution EX.  Tough call buddy, I'd take them all if you're not sure of the shot and leave 2 in the car.

I've tried the Equation out on my local house shot, and I love the reaction it gets as a first ball out of the bag on medium oiling conditions. I was able to play a wider angle as well as a little tighter with no fear of the ball getting through carrydown. I would say if the Artillery works similarly, wait on punching out the Equation, but if not, I'd punch out the Equation and bring it.

I'm in the same boat as you in trying to decide what I'll be bringing to league nights this fall, as I'm bowling in two different houses on two different conditions at two different times, so that can effect what I will bring to each house.

Nevermind. I just got the Equation drilled. Couldn't resist. It's going with me tonight. The league I'm bowling in follows another late afternoon league - a teachers league. They only use half the center, the Bud Lite league uses the whole thing and it just so happens my team is on lane 32 tonight meaning we're after the ladies. All that means is that the first game will be okay, the second will be lots of transition with carrydown and the third game will be dry with the possiblity of carrydown. I'll probably start with the Equation then eventually transition to the Desert Heat if it's like last year at any rate. Still taking my heavier oilers with me however, just in case.

Unfortunately I didn't bowl. I'm a sub on that team and unexpectedly I wasn't needed tonight. So my first time out will be on Tuesday of next week. Oh well....actually will have better oil to test it on at that time.

That sucks, Chuck, but at least you'll have better oil to test everything on. So then you can see the Real reactions of your equipment.
