TJFreaky,

I have a Freakazoid drilled with the pin about 4 inches from PAP and I sanded it down to about 600-800 and it can definately be an oil ball....for most. With high ball speed, or a spinner release, forget it, I do not think it would get the job done.

I TOTALLY agree with Ex!  FAZ is a great benchmark ball for me though!

I think it works well with surface but I personally LOVE IT out of the box.  This ball is my benchmark ball also.  I would try it in oil but I think that you'll find that it will be best in medium conditions.  Overall it's an awesome ball.  Have fun!

just dull the crap out of anyball and it can be a heavy oil ball. U can take a ball mad to go like 50 feet and snap on light oil, dull it up to like 400 and it will work in oil.

I use my FAZ as a bench mark... if too much oil... I pulled my 400 grits sanded Phenom Unleashed to do the job....

Bowlerkid,

What you said is partially true, but the core in the Freakazoid rolls up pretty quick, so that helps this ball in oil more than say sanding a 3pc reactive would.

Personally I wouldn't recommend it because there's just too much out there that naturally fits the bill better (Rule,GP2).  Unless you have a ton of revs or are pretty heavy handed, the FAZ shines as a med oil ball.
