Title: Drilling for Machine Help
Post by: gmdetective on March 11, 2006, 05:50:25 AM
I am thinking about getting the Machine, and while on Track's website noticed the drilling instructions for this ball are the generic symmetric layouts. Does this ball come with a different set of drill instruction for assymetrics, or should I use the Robo's drill sheet? Thanks.

gmdetective,

You could use the same drill instructions that the Robo has. Remember, the MB is stronger on the Machine than any previous Track release so the BC(mb) placement is even more crucial.

Hey gm,

EX is dead on again.  The Machine is asymmetrical and is currently the strongest intermediate differential ball produced in Track history.  Therefore, as Carl stated, placement of the mb for reaction shape is extremely crucial.  Do not place the mb left of thumb (for right handers) unless you have a fairly low track or want the ball to truly delay down the lane or it can raise the track and the possibility of clipping the holes will become even greater.

Remember my coffe cup analogy where the handle represented the mass bias, now imagine that handle being nearly twice as heavy.  It will pull the cup off the edge of the table even faster.  Hope this helps some...

Thanks guys for your time, I ordered two today, one is for my son, he is an Ebonite user but is turned off by the One line due to excess oil absorbsion. We will let you know how things go later in the week. P.S. Sunday I bowled with a young guy throwing the the Big One, he used to roll the One. I asked him where his One was and he said in my bag, I still use it for dry lanes, 120 games =dry lane ball. So I asked how is your Big One holding up? he said good so far, I try not use it so much so it won't die out. What good is any ball if you are afraid to use it? He and I are just regular house bowlers. My Robo 733, his Big One 611
