I picked up a rule used last week, just for fun i tryed it the way it was drilled pin underfinger number 1 on the high track drilling sheet and mb way out there as far as you can go on the drilling chart with a balance hole 2 inches inches underneath it, the ball did not take a turn at all really, i am i medium tracker medium to slower speed and medium revs to lower revs.
thanks

What do you mean by "as far as you can go on the drilling chart"? Is the MB in the track area or on/near/past your VAL? The drilling isn't according to your PAP so that could be a problem.

i don't know my pap but its eather on or past the val by looking on the drill sheet

Well, if it's on or past the VAL, it will get into a forward roll very early. On top of that, it is aided by the weight hole which helps reduce side weight resulting in an even earlier forward roll (I think).
What conditions are you bowling on? Your slow speed and the very aggressive drilling may result in the ball rolling out.

A fresh house shot, the only ball that i have to compare to it is my big blue which is drilled similar but the mb is about an inch and a half closer and i have good luck with that drilling and ball

From what I've seen (in my area), but Rule is a much stronger ball than the Big Blue or Big Blue Pearl. Can you describe the reaction of the ball? Does your PAP remain visible at the same place throughout the entire lane (skating and never seems to grip the lane)? Does the ball just start rolling forward and continue rolling without hooking? The only place I've seen the Rule not move (by anyone) was on a sport shot at a tourney.
Hopefully Rick, EX, or anyone else can chime in because I myself am quite 'newby' as well, hehe

fishnic,
ice is correct. With the MB in position on or beyond your VAL it is not going to give the ball a very strong change of direction. This layout is more for heavy oil....and is best used when you square up to the lane.

Hey fishnic,
I'd recommend to try it first in heavier oil and see what it offers you based on your style. If you like it, then leave it. It can however be drilled much stronger to your personal pap but see what it gives you first...just trying to save you a few bucks.
Cobb, I'll send you a pm bud to answer your question. This can get a little lengthy plus the guys know (unlike n_smith), I do blab..

Hey Fishnic im experiencing the same thing as you with my rule. My rule wont work on regular house shots and stuff to that nature, I have to have a heavy oil shot down or my ball wont move. When I first threw it on wood it just went dead straight. When I threw it on synthetic it moved a little more but not that much. Just the other day I ran into a heavy shot and it moved more than everything did.
-
I'll chime in to make it a 3rd vote for "my Rule goes straight"... Nothing on wood THS, a tad bit on synthetic... I guess I need to find more oil....

Signature? I don't need no stinking signature...

Wow what a up rising, im sure its good ball, but i thought i was retarded or soemthing.

My ball is stacked with the mb on the left side of the thumb, it is stacked to the right and below the fingers. Its in the OOB shape. Mine wont turn or do anything unless i throw it on a heavy heavy shot. I found some juice and it turned better than my animal. On a house shot my ball is dead slow. I thought about redrilling it in order to get that super backend or whatnot but i have plenty of things for that, I may just leave it the way it is. I also think that if you throw some polish on it, it will flip a little more than the OOB shape.
-
Hey Chitown how do you have your ball drilled to give me a an idea of how to redrill mine if I decide to.
-
Do you have a low axis tilt or low axis rotation? I'm not completely sure, but I believe a low axis rotation combined with the MB close to or on the VAL will definitely cause the ball to just roll forward (or minutely change directions, then roll forward) once it hits the dry. I think you should try polishing the ball.

Im going to get it polished, i will see how that works, i will post results in a few days.
