Drilling Track 2nd/Blems? Your Experiences
« on: January 05, 2005, 07:28:09 AM »
Has anyone had an experience with buying Track 2nds/Blems?
I just emailed a dealer that mentioned he had a few Track balls with Off label Stamps, Mismarked CG's and/or MB's, excessive Top Weight and was curious to know the potential of these balls.

Rick, Ex, Mitch, Ernie, Track pro-staff members, and everyone else on here, have you had any type of experiences with drilling up a Track 2nd/Blem with a Mis-Marked MB/CG or Excessive top-weight?

Would you be able to know where to Mark the misaligned MB or CG coordinates in relation to where the PIN is, lay it out, & still be able to punch it up? What would you do with Excessive Top-Weight, would you be able to drill it up?

Any kind of info would be great! Thanks!

I got a FAZ with a high TW/BLEM ... but after talking to Chuck at TRACK and working with a GOOD pro shop, I got it drilled up to fit in my lineup; it goes long and turns HARD !!! I LOVE IT !!! Had it for a month now and nothing under 200 ...

Hey Ram,

I've personally never had a major problem in drilling blems from most companies.  They're usually not that bad.  The only difficult ones may be like having a 5-6 inch pin and you want it to roll early, then that may be a little difficult.  In your personal case, with your revs, you could make great use of a ball like that.

Having a mismarked mb is a different question now, I do not have a Determinator at the shop to spin every ball to ensure it's mb, don't think many shops do.  We have to trust the manufacturers a lot on that one. Now having the mb just misaligned is no big deal since cg is no really no longer as relative.  Just need to meet ABC specs so we end up getting righty/lefty friendly balls to drill.  Hope this helps bud..

Totally agree with Rick. I would like to have a determinator as well myself, maybe in the future.
