dry lanes
« on: July 09, 2006, 02:50:55 PM »
Can anyone give me some suggestions on a ball I can use on
dry lanes? (Or a certain drill pattern, or both ball and drill pattern) The house shot I bowl on is on short oil, and wood
lanes. The shot usually dries up after the first game, I
have a hard time getting the ball to the 1-3 pocket. I am
somewhat a high rev player, who does not generate a lot of ball speed
somewher around 14.5 to 15 mph.

any suggestions would be appriciated.

The Desert Heat....naturally.

Layout would depend on your game....but for dry lanes you would want to keep the pin at around 5-5.5 inches from your PAP.....this will help it clear the heads easily.

Better yet...go with the Slate Blue Gargoyle.  If you are on short oil, I have still seen the Desert Heat hook alot on drier condition.  The Slate Blue is a pearl urethane cover with a great core inside.  Heard alot of great things about this ball.  PLUS......it is the cheapest thing anyone has posted so far.
