dry wet over and under
« on: July 06, 2005, 06:35:53 PM »
I bowl in abt and they keep putting a shot out there that to the best of my knowledgeis wet in the middle and flooded 10 to gutter. The shot gives me night mares.I am not comfortable playing the tight line consistently, and when i try to get deeper if u miss right u r dead, is there a ball i could rely on to recover in this washout land .I am a low speed low rev low accuracy player ok i suck, but anyway,i shot this weekend with an oracle, stood 20 played to 7 and as long as i didnt miss i was fine if i moved to 15 i missed right and nose jobif i played 15 to 5 washout,i need a ball i can play this shot without sacrificing to much of how i like to bowl ,is there a ball,or do i take up darts.i have a phenom unleashed and a wmb and neither on handlse this shot

If you are looking for something to handle the soup, go for a GP2. If the GP2 doesn't get the job done, nothing will!

**LET THE DEBATE BEGINE**again

toomanytenpins,

What you are getting out of the WMB (consider same surface and layout)the GP2 is going to give you minimum of 5 boards more.

Here is my example again(I got smashed last time I posted this, but it is true): I drilled a buddy of mine a WMB in November. He liked it, but it didn't work in oil the way he hoped. One night in league he tried my Rule GP2....after using it for a game or 2 he decided he wanted one. I drilled it up with the same layout that his WMB had.........the GP2 was 8 boards stronger. It rolled sooner in the heavy stuff and had more backend. He raised his average significantly (results may vary depending on the bowler) using the GP2 the remainder of the season.

Hey tmt,

I have about 6-7 ABT Master titles (before it died) out here in Cal.  Your shot is very similar to what I had and the best success I had was to play as deep as I could staying away from the hang or OB.  The GP2 would offer you a little more room to the outside but that may be an area that you don't want to play.

Understood that your lower revs don't allow you to create much room on the lane either, so that would be another reason for you to throw a stronger ball.  Please keep in mind however that this type of shot is challenging and difficult, it's what we call a reverse block.
