Dull Crunch Time?
« on: February 16, 2004, 09:37:25 PM »
Has anyone tried taking the polish off a Crunch Time? If so, how did work? I've got one that I love now, but I need something a little stronger. I can't decide between the Havoc or another Crunch Time with more surface. May also consider an Animal or an Unleashed. I'd like get more feedback on the Animal before I make that decision, though. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I've got a question for you...is the Crunch Time (box condition) a "true" medium ball?  I have a Brunswick Monster Bruiser that was a true medium out of the box and I have dulled the surface down to 1000 grit and now it is an "oil monster" but is now too much for medium and way too much for dry conditions.  If the Crunch Time is a "true" medium ball, I way get one for medium conditions and maybe take by Bruiser to 800 for really oily lanes.  If the Crunch Time is stronger than medium, what other Track ball would be better for medium/dry medium conditions?  Havoc?

That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, that which doesn't make you stronger is a waste of time!

IMO, the Crunch Time is, for me, is a medium (light side of medium) condition ball. It is much stronger than I thought it would be. Especially for how I have it drilled(5x4, pin above the fingers). It is very impressive. Knocking the polish off might very well defeat the purpose. However, the CT rolls so well for me that maybe drilling one stronger and giving it a little more surface might do the trick. It's playing with a known(CT) versus an unknown(Havoc,Crunch,etc.). Just doing some thinking. Idle minds are dangerous minds, you know.

for me the crunch time is a good med-heavy oil ball drilled pin under ring and cg kicked out has 3/4 pos side.  great for med-heavy but to much for drier lanes.
