Dulling effect

I am curious about how much dulling a ball will change the ball's reaction, in number of boards.  What are your experiences with dulling a ball?  I have an Arsenal Reactive.  Is this just an experiment kind of thing?

Dulling the ball down will make it read and hook much earlier, but will calm down the backend and be more smooth. Polish will make it skid longer and then snap harder on the backend. I like using dull balls more on heavier oil to start rolling sooner.

cd,

Dull balls will not hook as strongly or as sharply off of dry boards as a ball that is polished. HOWEVER, when there is enough oil present that a polished ball will not make its move soon enough that is when the dull ball "shines".
