Ball: I decided since my other Xception was so strong on the backend that I would see what this one will do with a stronger/earlier layout. Pin 1 3/4 above midline 3 1/2inches from PAP, MB 1/2 inch left of VAL. Surface is lightly scuffed with grey scotchbrite.
Lane Conditions: various
Line: The line changed based on the condition I tried it on, but this ball played best (on a house shot) 14 at the arrows with the breakpoint down the lane at 9 board.
Reaction: In comparison to my first Xception, this one rolls sooner and is less angular on the backend. NOW-----with that said..it is still probably stronger in the backend than any other ball in my bag other than Xception #1. With this Xception if I hit the dry too soon it would pick up and arc through the nose, with Xception #1 it would snap brooklyn.
Impact: Track stuff hits....REALLY HARD!!!! Ofcourse most of you know that though. The Xception is no "exception" to that. Impact is identical to Xception #1.
Readability: Of the 2 Xceptions, #2 is better suited to read the lanes with. HOWEVER---I would rather use my Freakazoid or Animal Untamed for that purpose.
OVERALL: The Xception is probably the ball that I see most league bowlers being able to use. It is a ball that fits every kind of style...cranker, tweener, stroker......and it fits all of those styles very well. I am considering adding a little more surface to this one....because if I am playing close to the oil and tug it a little....it is not enough to get up (ofcourse this is where a Rule would go), and if I get it out quick as I stated above it moves quick. All in all.....a great ball. I find myself thinking that Track just cannot out do themselves and then the next ball is even better. If you are considering the Xception, don't hesitate any longer.....grab one!!!!
