Equation (2) squared
« on: December 23, 2006, 04:15:01 PM »
Here is a pic fellas. The Fast Track ball arrived yesterday. I drilled it up today and it is pretty nice. I will post my thoughts later.

Ok guys I told carl I would do this seeing how he said he was very very sleepy. The thoughts he had on this ball was that it was alot cleaner in the heads then the normal equation. He also found it to be more of a snap on the backend then the normal equation. I said that it may have been a ideal counter to hammers toxic. Seeing how the toxic goes longer then the doom and snaps harder.

My Thoughs.
I saw the reaction out of this equation as a step up from the desert.I think it may be 2-3 boards weaker in everypart of the lane other then the backend where it may be 2-3 boards stronger then the normal equation. I then got the chance to roll it, and I notice that it went reall long even on the dry boards. It seamed to go almost as long as my xception with 4000 abralon and a coat of magic shine and delayed. Yet it snaped really hard so this is a reaction that you dont see in the current arsenal. I dont see it as a true drylane ball like the desert but it is a good lighter oil ball for anyone looking for one.

Carl,

Thanks for the pics!  That is one sweet looking ball.

Mark,

Thanks for the info.  Has a release date been established?  For those of us that have both the Desert Heat and the Equation, would this be a good addition to the arsenal?

Looks just like this...

...or this...

I'm not a big Track fan, but the original Equation was a big seller around here ! The colors had lots a shelf-appeal

REV-O......you should have seen the sausage that went on the buns

The Equation Squared does not really look like the balls listed there by 302. The blue that you see in the picture actually looks more purple in my opinion.

HEY CARL!

Be honest with me on this one, am I going to like this one as much as I like the Equation? You know how high I am on the Equation right now too! God Bless You and have a great week!

know I can't get a ball as cheap as the shop owners but being a member of the PBA I can get one for $77

That's actually cheaper then what shops (or at least me) can buy it for bud...

Rick, there is something wrong with Track if aharvey can buy Track balls cheaper than you, Carl, and other Track Staff members whereas you guys are a part of the Track organization and he isn't. I don't understand how he can be a PBA member either when he only has a composite bowling average of 191.

Sorry Unc, (just to clarify) as staff we do get one ball for personal use and can purchase additional balls at around the same price.  I was speaking in the sense of retail.  By the time a distributor adds in his/her mark up, it costs more then what aharvey listed.  All manufacturers I think offer PBA members pretty good deals to try their products and that has been an industry standard.

Until our Govt starts imposing some sort of interstate commerce tax, internet sales are also cheaper then me because I have to pay tax on every wholesale item that comes through my shop.  The only 2 items I know that have reached out to the right people in charge are tobacco and alcohol (big money).  This is why we are a dying breed but I see some drastic changes within the next 5-10 years in our business if the manufacturers want to survive or maintain profit margins.  I've been speaking to a few of my reps and we're always discussing the future of the industry.

They have changed the rules, you need a 200 average and must have bowled 35 games, there is no composite average needed. Sorry if you don't understand that I am a PBA member. My average has dropped after I got the card.

Mike,

I think it reminds me alot of the sppex with how clean it was in the heads and mids. Yet it picked up so strong on the back, I mean if the equation had built in backend this thing has a built in backend with a NOZ switch.

I think the ball looks pretty sweet.

Something more of an arcing ball would be a great add to the original Equation.

I wonder if they are coming out with the Equation Cubed?

Any plans on shooting a video of this ball? Maybe comparing it to the original Equation?
