Mean Machine
« on: July 02, 2006, 01:11:49 PM »
I don't have enough time on this ball to post a mini review.....but I have a few comments:

The ball is laid out 4 3/4 pin above ring finger x 4 1/4mb. Weighthole on my VAL

FIRST- If you read through my reviews you will see where I stated that the Arsenal Reactive had the most backend I have seen out of a ball that does not have polish on the surface...... the Mean Machine is even stronger, it made an incredible turn even though the surface is not polished. I couldn't believe the movement of off the dry boards. It was too strong for the condition I was using it on<------------HOWEVER it was consistant in the way it reacted as well. I had alot of area...I was able to miss my target outside by as many as 6 boards. 6 BOARDS is a huge amount of forgiveness in bowling folks.

I drilled it up like one of my Robo Rules so I could do a comparison. It is a tad longer but with more backend than the Robo. BTM's statement of it fitting between the Robo and the Machine is an understatement....it fits PERFECTLY between them. The Mean Machine hits the pins extremely hard.....and it keeps the pins low (a huge plus in my opinion).

I will post a mini review as soon as I get some more games on the ball.

I liked the Delta......but after only brief use I can say that I like the Mean Machine MUCH more. I think it is stronger than the Delta....atleast on the backend, but I would say it rolls every bit as soon. Both of my Deltas were drilled to roll pretty early. The Mean Machine has a weaker layout for me. The Mean Machine makes a much stronger move off of the dry than the Delta did.

SO-----I don't know if I would call it a "replacement" for the Delta because everything about the Mean Machine is better than the Delta. The Mean Machine seems stronger in every part of the lane. This ball (remember, I have not thrown it alot yet) is something special. If you like the Machine and want a stronger ball with similiar motion throughout the lane, this is the ball.

It is killing me to not be able to use throw this ball more right now. I considered going in to the center for a bit today....but being a holiday and all I thought that might be a bad idea.

My gf and I went bowling yesterday.

Needless to say I had to bust out my 1998 purple hammer the lanes were so fried.

Good post Carl. I'm waiting on an Inertia review..I like the idea of a peak particle power pack coverstock.

Sounds like this ball could be a replacement for the Delta 1.

I threw both these balls yesterday at a local tourney and the Mean Machine is at least 6-7 boards stronger overall.  Mean is a very good word to describe this ball....

I got a few more games on the ball lastnight. I am going to have a problem with this ball.......I cannot put it down. It moves....ALOT. Predictable, but strong.

I am starting to question my initial comparison between it and the Robo.

So... now we have comments, before a mini review, before a full review? Sheesh, this is almost as bad as the pictures of balls that float around 6 months before release dates.

I have had a chance to throw the Mean Machine more this weekend. I am extremely excited about this ball. The more I throw it the more I like it.

I have said it before and I am going to say it again...this ball backends....ALOT.
It almost breaks the law of bowling in how well it recovers off of the dry for a dull ball.

AND the LEGION members are going to love it because it still has that mountain toppling TRACK HIT that we have grown used to.

Well to me of course you will have comments about the ball right at the start of throwing it. You shouldnt give it a mini review untill you got a true firm idea of what conditions and consitant reactions you have seen out of it. Everyone hase first impressions of a ball after they throw it the first few times. Then they develop a true idea of what the ball is and they give it a review. The idea that the first comments on it are a bad is completly not true. There nothing wrong with carl to have comments after he first uses the ball. It is also not bad for pics to o around online for 6 months. It builds want for a ball because alot of people buy a ball for looks. (AAAAAAA JUST NEEDED TO GET THAT OFF MY CHEST.)
