Well, got to DJ's Pro Shop in Auburn and drilled up the Mean Machine and the Equation. Got the chance to bowl 4 games with them at the lanes too... here are the layouts and my initial observations:
Track Mean Machine: 3" pin, pin above bridge, pap to mb distance- 4". Ended up with 11/16 oz side weight, 7/16 oz finger weight, 1 oz top weight.
Track Equation: 3" pin, pin ove ring finger, stacked leverage (3 3/8" X 3 3/8"). No balance hole was necessary- 7/16 oz side weight, 1/2 oz finger weight, 3/4 oz top weight.
I left both in box surface and went to the lanes at the pro shop. They've been resurfaced and hooked like mad. I had to play 28 with my feet with the Equation and throw 25 out to 5- had a great skid/snap reaction, constant movement and left a couple of 8 pins from that line. Anything tighter went brooklyn, no matter how far I lofted it, how much I tried to change the hand release to spin it or higher ball speed. The Mean Machine was too strong as well for this condition, even playing 35-5 (which is very hard for me to do).
Both have strong looks and I will give more thoughts as I get the chance to bowl more with each in different houses this week.
