Looking for advice on a med-high oil ball to compliment my Track 508A. Most nights the house pattern fits me well but on oily days I'm a mess. I end up dancing all over the place to avoid consistently getting deep in the pocket by the time the 508A flips on the backend. I originally spent two hours with the local pro shop guy to get the 508A but can't really afford to do it again. I'm guessing the LX16 would be a match but open to jump brands. Thanks.

My Lx16 is considerably stronger than my 508A even with a similar layout, so much so that I think it would be a huge chasm between those two balls for you if you got the Lx16. I haven't thrown any of the other newer Track pieces but offhand I think the Lx05 would be a good step up from the 508A and it's out of box condition has some surface to help battle oil. The Lx10 might also be a good choice and should be smoother than the 508A.

LX10, LX16, MX10, or MX16 would all be logical choices as a step up from the 508A.
My vote would be for the LX10 or MX16, both seem to matched very well with their cover/core combination.

Thanks guys for the response. I was practically pulling out my credit card at the proshop last night to get the lx10 and noticed a demo ball, the Hy-Road Pearl, calling my name. To avoid a little buyer's remorse, I took it for a spin. WOW! I moved a random 22 boards over and saw 4 for 5 strikes get totally obliterated almost each time.
Track has been good to me, so now I'm thinking of using the off season to develop a new skid/flip style. Which of the Track balls would have a similar roll to the HRP?

Close to the Hy-Road Pearl Mx05 and Tour X, the Tour X is smooth and will also give you a nice reaction down the lane however if you are seeing early hook because the lanes are drier up front then Tour X and Mx05 are going to hook a little sooner then you would like (almost any ball nowadays will). Mx05 is stronger in the backend then the Tour X they both have that Pearl cover so those are really the two front runners that can compare to the Hy-Road Pearl.

As long as you happy with your purchase either today or years down the road, that is what matters. Anyone can come on the forum and try to pursued you to buy bowling ball(s). In my opinion it is better to wait until you can get what you need, and like it. Versus being forced into getting something you think you need, and then you hate it, and possibly never give it another shot. Bowl well and enjoy your purchase, we are all here to help each other the best we can.
