Paradox Black quick review
« on: December 19, 2017, 11:03:23 AM »
Talked with my driller about what I thought I needed for some upcoming tournaments and settled on a Paradox Black.

Layout is 55 x 4 1/2 x 40 no hole needed and only thrown a handful of games so far at box surface on our house shot which I believe changed to 44 feet.

Subbed Thursday night and shot 268-207, should have put it away 2nd game as it was just too much ball with a couple higher rev guys than me.

Last night shot 279/783, I had the highest rev rate on the pair and was able to keep moving left in the oil. Ball has no quit and makes my DV8 Creed look tame. I'd say I'm at least 5 boards left of the Creed and in a similar spot to my Absolute Nirvana but the Paradox is a lot more aggressive in the back

The only ball I've had similar is the old Rogue Cell and I liked that ball a lot when I could throw it.

Ball is really good.  It's just like the blue one.  Its awesome in just about every way on the fresh.  If there is enough oil, you can just stay with it and parallel left, at least most of the time anyway.  The logix compliments it very very well too when it starts to burn early.

What look/need did you ask him about that led you to the Paradox Black?

I've never had issues on short or long patterns, I've cashed in Vegas on 35 ft and 48 ft. My issue has always been on the middle patterns 39-43 ft as I get in between with my low tilt/ low rotation as balls want to read the dry quicker but I don't have a higher rev rate to use the higher volume to my advantage.

My driller's thoughts was something with more diff but a ball that wouldn't read the mids as early as my Absolute Nirvana.

My arsenal I'm taking to upcoming tournaments is:

Absolute Nirvana - 2000
Paradox Black - 3000
Creed - box worn polish
Freakshow Solid - 2000
Tag Cannon - 3000 + polish
Rack Attack Pearl - 1000 + polish

Good choice on the Paradox. I threw one at a recent Ebonite Demo Days and was impressed enough to pick one up myself.

I'm seeing this ball everywhere I go and lots of scores with them. I have a buddy that shot 3 800s last week with the Paradox Black. Making it hard for me to pass it up especially since I need something like this ball.
