Hi Track Legion,
My name is Mark Dodds, I've been trying for a while now to post my exciting news to you guys and figured out that my cookies were disabled and it stopped me from being able to post, Anyway, I have been checking out tracks site for about a year now and enjoying all of the post's that you guys are making. It's been a pleasure and I've learned a lot. Now I've got exciting news for you,
A little bit about me first. I was an avid Jr. bowler in the state of Delaware. Held many titles and won scholarship money and so forth and so on. From the time I was 14 I was a Jr. coach for the bantam frosh division (ages 6 to 9) until I was 18 then I turned adult and ran the division for the next 7 years. Also I was voted in as President of the association and stayed for 3 terms (6 years). I bowled on tour for a while, made some money but not enough to make a living out of it. Then my Home house closed, Holiday Lanes in Claymot Delaware, and I gave up the sport completely for almost 8 years. For those 8 years I did not look at a bowling ball much less throw one or even look in the direction of a bowling alley.
last September I had the itch back and decided to get back into bowling so I joined a league. Of course, I needed a new ball! The stuff that I had form back when just didn't cut the mustard anymore, if you know what I mean. So I had to start all over again learning about all the new technology and how the game has changed. WOW what a difference!
I ran into an old friend of mine that now helps run a pro shop and he introduced me to track, with the Sheer Havoc. After a few weeks of getting back into the swing of things. I realized that I still had the "STUFF". So buy the end of the season I was bowling in 2 leagues averaging 204 in one and 206 in another. Still have work to do to get back to where I was when I Quit 8 years ago. When I quit I was averaging about 220. By the way I now own 4 track balls and have another in the works.
NOW for the news!!! I joined a summer league to keep in shape and improve, averaging about 213. I got my self the MEAN MACHINE two weeks before the end of the season. 1st week that I had it, I held my own. Then came into practice before league and threw it to warm up and it started looking better to me. So I started out that night using it ...... I WENT 300-279-223 for my first ever 802 !!!!! I have never had an 800 before, 798, 790, many others but just could not come up with the 800 until now. I just have to say this ball is amazing! It truly does not come ALIVE until you have put about 3 or 4 games on it and then LOOK OUT! IT WILL BREAK PINS IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL!
In conclusion thanks for letting me rant and rave on and share my good news. I can't wait to talk to you guys more and learn more about track. By the way I'm looking to get back to pro status by March of next year when the Regional starts up for 2007. Thank you Del Warren and Thank you Track, Keep up the good work!
Sincerely,
Mark Dodds
