I was finally able to get to the bowling alley and drill up my Mean Machine. After thinking for a week on how to drill it, I decided to lay it out like my favorite Robo Rule. I ended up placing the pin just below my fingers, kicking the cg out towards my VAL and the mass bias ending about 2 inches from my VAL. Pin ended up 4 1/2 from my PAP about 1 1/2 inches above midline. I left the surface factory to see what it did.
Grabbed my Robo with the same drill, also factory surface, but probably has every bit of 100 games...so while the drills are the same, the Robo probabkly has some oil in the cover, but it still reacts AWESOME and has great hit...you can't tell I throw this ball all the time.
I actually got lucky and had a fresh pattern, albeit the normal house pattern and not the scratch league pattern that is tighter and has more oil for us. Got comfy using my Robo standing about 20 and rolling it over around 15 out to about 10. Robo was its usual self..very smooth and whacked em. After finding a decent line with the Robo I was comfy with ( I have not bowled in 3 weeks trying to heal some injuries) I brought out the Meanie. Standing just a couple of borads to the right of the Robo, The Mean was cleaner through the heads for me but with a much more defined move at the break. I knew on the shots I let my speed down, it was through the nose as it made that nice of a move for me. Ball hit and carried AWESOME.
I bowled enough games that I ended up playing left of 4th arrow (nose bleed area for me) by the end of the night. The Robo was still striking, but would leave some flat 10s. Pick this ball up and while there were some flat 10s, it kicked out a ton of 10s from the angular move it made.
I need some more games on it, but from my first observations it is longer and stronger than the Robo for me.
