What on earth is the idea behind the crazy layout you have on your 505C?

It is not a crazy layout. This is a layout we were shown down at Training camp. I have a slight mod to it because of how close I track to the thumb. If I would have used the normal layout I would have clipped the thumb. It is the layout I suggested to X on here a while back.

What the layout does is get the ball into a extreamly early roll and to help lower the amount of track flair, and backend. This layout really helps the guys who have problems playing to the outside of the lane because of the amount of revs they have play out in the track area.

Just added that to the abover post. I posted before I stated what the layout does. So for an idea on what that layout does see my above post. I will try to get some video on both balls as soon as I can get out on the lanes and bowl again. Currently recovering from a car accident and cant roll the ball to well.

Even if it makes total sense, it STILL looks like a crazy layout to me!

Back in the late 80's and 90's EVERYONE had a layout like that in the bag! Of Course now I am showing my age! Ahh the days of Axis weight, Axis Leverage, and Hammer balls with huge holes in the bullseye on your axis that would stand up and look at you and not flare! LOL

Yes, I concur.  I currently have 3 pieces (for the last 15 yrs or so to play the O/U that I have out here) that look like this at 3 different surfaces.  Nothing truly new or out of the ordinary guys for those who have thought "outside" of the box (Yes Billy, we are showing our age..lol).  Only thing I would have to say and has been stated in the Drilling and Layout section is to make sure this is not past your pap (unless you want that reaction, have that too, just pm me) as that "will" bring the track towards thumb and may clip the gripping holes.

Once pin axis was discovered and understood, we basically manipulated around it to get slightly different reactions (early or late, what do you want or need?).

This basically is a modified version of the Leong-Hall..(and will correct) Warren/Leong/Hall.  Just ask Lanebed or BK Chief as to what it can do...guys, it's just an object (weightblock) inside another object (sphere in this case), what if we were to have a loaded "baseball" or "tennis ball"?  We can make it difficult or we can make it simple....your choice.  Just ask your Tag Team.....

On edit: Scoot, hope you're okay bud.  Sorry to hear about the accident...

Im doing ok, just cant bowl real well. Everything is way off, from normal. PAP right now is different then normal, and my rev rate is down under 300. Anyone on here that knows me knows thats way under my normal rev rate. Just not feeling or looking good as I roll the ball right now.

Rick is right.

I have had this layout in 3 different pieces in the last 3-4 years.  I did an Untamed, Rising and Kinetic Energy.  It allows me to move out and run over the cactus and tumble weeds in certain situations.  More importantly, this layout significantly smoothes out the overreaction on extreme wet dry.

I used to bowl in a center where there was a ton of friction and I fought the first game.  The Untamed quickly became my first ball out and never let me down.

I'm still waiting to get my Kinetic Pearl back with that layout.  The pro shop here is so damn slow.

The weight hole started out on my val 1/4 up. Yet with the hole being 1 1/8 in size it comes close to my PAP. The depth is just over 3", with the final numbers around 3/16 fingers and 5/8 positive.
