Fitting the Delta in my arsenal
« on: October 10, 2005, 07:32:30 AM »
Since the Delta will be the last ball I will buy for awhile, my arsenal is complete.

This is what I have currently (all undrilled, the Delta needs to be plugged and redrlled):

GP2
Delta (slighly polished, pin over ring, cg and MB stacked)
Arsenal Aggressive
Arsenal Angular
Slash
Heat
Hexplosion
Desert Heat

I know I asked plenty of arsenal questions in the past. The reason all these balls haven't been drilled yet, is because over the summer I was working with different pitches to see what works the best with an old ball, and right now I'm recovering from knee surgery (arthroscopic done on 9/27, hope to be back in league by early November). So I wont have this done until later this month.

My final arsenal question is, what should I start off drilling for my league shot (usually THS, medium on synthetics), and then for tournaments? And also how should I set this up, from strongest to weakest with drilling suggestions.

Thanks a million in advance!

I would start with the Slash (best benchmark ball in the business) and put a mild drill on it so you can read exactly what the lanes are doing. Once you drill and use it, then I would go with one ball on either side (Angular or Heat) and then drill the other one next. The stronger the ball, the stronger I would drill it so it does what it is meant to do, and vice versa.

Thanks, Clint.

As far as the Delta (with the pin above and to the right of the ring, with the MB stacked and polished), where would that go? Between the GP2 and the Aggressive, or between the Aggressive and the Angular?

I would *THINK* in oil handling capability, I would say between the Aggressive and Angular...my reasons are this. The GP2 and Aggressive both start up quicker than the Delta (Particle vs resin) and the Delta would start quicker than the Angular (solid vs pearl). hat is at least the way my equipment acts for me with the balls having the same drilling.
