Well, EX since I got you and Rick involved let me explain a little further. For a lot of years I used the Cobra wrist support and I did real well with it but when I ran into a longer pattern I had a heck of a time getting the ball to do anything. I bowled pretty crappy in the state tourney and decided to go over my whole game, equipment and all. What I discovered was that while the support helped me to gain more spin on the ball in lighter, shorter conditions, it was killing me on anything else. The support was naturally causing me to turn the ball early and because of the support keeping my wrist straight, it would cause me to release my thumb too early. So, I was "dropping" the ball and putting a spin on it. I got rid of the Cobra and bought a Master Wrister and after about 10 games or so, I stared getting comfortable with it. I changed wrist positions and released the ball a lot of different ways, but the track remained the same. I used to drop the ball sometimes in front of the foul line and now I'm getting the ball a few feet over the foul line. I am putting a lot more revs on the ball, I see a stronger roll and increased pin action but the track stays the same. On the longer patterns I had trouble with, I'm scoring better and have better ball reaction, but the track is still the same. I just think it's weird. If I can, I'll go to the Track seminar at Clint's place in October and maybe Del or Clint can shed a little light on what I'm doing.
