is this ball being discontinued? and if it is, are they coming out with a new ball that will replace it, if they already haven't done that?

I have not recieved any info saying that they are going to discontinue the freakazoid. Track usually lets their stuff be on the market awhile before discontinuing. I would say "No, it is not being discontinued", but there are a few releases in the first part of 2005 so who knows. All I can say is that if they discontine the Freakazoid I cannot wait to see its replacement because the 'zoid is an awesome ball.

Same here, no info that it is being discontinued either.

I hope it stays for at least one more year, its too popular around my area not to. Not to mention, its a great ball as well!

Wondered about that myself...seen it "marked down" on a couple of different websites...

To all Track Stars:

The Freak-a-Zoid will remain in the product line.  We are building a symmetric, high performance category that will provide bowlers with a complement to the asymmetric options, currently Rule/Xception family.  These balls will combine power with predictability, great for the tougher competitive patterns where free hook and free hold are at a minimum, as well as higher rev players looking for a ball that won't bounce when it hits friction.  The FAZ fills a very important place in this product line.  We have had great responses from people that are looking for the smooth, readable reaction that the FAZ provides in medium oil conditions.  The FAZ might be one of the most overlooked balls on the market today.

Our high end asymmetric balls provide more transition power at the breakpoint, the soon-to-be high end symmetric arsenal category (including the FAZ) will provide more controllability.  I think you will be as excited as I am.  It is great to have the many options we have here at Track with asymmetric and symmetric core designs, five different and distinctive reactive resin formulas, and the many different particles.  I don't believe that there is another manufacturer with all the tools that we at Columbia Industries have.

Wow...I guess that says it all.....I wonder what other high end performance symmetrical balls that they are gonna come out with?  Is it possible to make a symmetrical core with say the Rule core? Can't wait to see this!

I think Del and company can do about anything with their cores and covers!
