Possible replacement for the Threat.
« on: November 02, 2004, 07:31:30 AM »
Anyone have any ideas? Does not have to be in the Track Line. Tried the recharge but it does not have the strong recoverability of the Threat, good ball but not like the Threat. Maybe its the Particle Pearl coverstock on the Threat but this ball really shines on fresh league conditions.

The Threat was a great ball for me too! I'd recommend the Crunch Time or a polished Slash.  Both give excellent recovery with the Slash being a tad earlier and a little stronger overall.  The Threat's particle load was really light so it actually reacted closer to resin than particle.

Triple Threat! The triple threat is the same core with a stronger cover. To get the same reaction you will have to keep it with a good shine or it will be a couple of boards stronger and a few feet earlier. The dry heat has the same core minus the center egg with a weaker solid cover. The dry heat is about five feet longer and about five boards weaker. There is no perfect replacement at this time but the two I mentioned are the closest matches unless you can find one of the original heats.

I agree with achappy, the CrunchTime would not be a bad replacement. I am not sure on the Slash since I have not thrown it yet, but the Crunch Time with identical layout as a Threat will be close.

The crunch time is a stronger ball. It is close but it has a stronger core and a different roll pattern.
