Need help from you TRACK people.....
I have to restore a friends Freak Out to factory specs. Tracks web site says 1000 compound. My question is what is the base sand, and what polish do they use to acheive the final finish.
Will a scotch brite to ruff the ball and then a coat of 1000 grit polish work to get the factory finish? The only polishes I have are Storms products. I have 1000, 1500, 2000, and 3000 grit polishes.

As with all things, this is my opinion. And we all know, opinions are like butt-holes, we all have one.

i've redone my freak out 2x. I started with a green scotch brite pad (new one) I did all six sides of the ball with it, then went to 600 wet paper, then 1000 wet paper, then i used tour shine, followed by magic shine. It's a little shinier then factory, but works very well!

What worked best for me was to sand it to 1000 grit and apply a light coat of 1000 compound (Track's Clean n Sheen is what I used).
