Impressed with the Animal Untamed
« on: September 20, 2004, 09:08:35 AM »
After averaging 240 over the last month in league and tournaments I'm very impressed with this ball. I originally didn't like the reaction or the hit of this ball until I polished it. It was like someone took the ball and redrilled it. It rolled just as even as it did when it was dull but the difference was in the hitting power. Now the ball snaps off the ten pin on almost every shot. I've had one 300 and two 279's and 269's with this ball in the last month. The Untamed (polished) and the Rule (out of box) are the balls two balls I use to initially read the lanes.

I have an Untamed that I put just "a little" polish on and am going through the same phase as you. Track products seem to take very well to polish so you have take small steps at a time with them. This thing is awesome! Kinda got lost in the shuffle with its summer release date. Is one of the best balls Track ever made. It is also probably the best carrying ball that I have ever thrown.
If WRW uses one on TV, god help whoever is bowling him.

I would suggest using Clean and Sheen first. If it still hooks to much then you should try the Magic Shine. I stopped with Clean and Sheen because it allowed the ball to get through the heads but read the mid-lane dry and recover with ease. Hope this helps.

Hey Vasilis,

If the shot resembles anything like what I saw on your vid, the Untamed is too strong as is.  I'd definitely recommend a strong coat of Track's Clean and Polish or Magic Shine.  What did I give your brother to take home?...CRS attack

Thanks DW and LaneBed, after listenting to you guys and the success you've had with the polish, I think I'm going to try and do the same.  Now that I have the Rule, I'd like a better separation from my Untamed.

Hey Vasilis,

You're probably right about the carrydown because the Untamed should not straighten out that much with just some polish.  Remember, all balls can only do what the conditions allow them to do.  Pretty simple guideline, if it slides, there's oil there(for that ball), if it grabs and turns over, there's dry there(again, for that ball).  Keep us posted my friend...
