I hear a lot of good thing about track bowling ball and I think is time for me to get one myself. Right now I'm using a storm fear factor.I have a slow to medium speed, medium to lower revs. I need something that hook a little more than the fear factor with a stronger back in and With my fear factor I leave a lot of 10 pin for some reason.

I hear a lot of good thing about the rule, animal and Phoeom.
Which one will work best for me?

danny,

If you want the roll of the Fear Factor but with more backend get a RULE GP2. If you want a little more length and stronger backend go with the RULE.

These are just very vague suggestions because so much with these balls depends on your style of game.

Any more info would help us ot greatly, but I would agree with Ex. GP2 or Rule, depending on what reaction you want.

Hey Danny,

Since I've been throwing the GP2 for a few weeks now, it still hasn't stopped to impress me. It is definitely stronger on the backend compared to your FF. The Rule would also be a possible choice so long as you have some dry on the lane for it to recover from (being resin). Hope this helps some..

Thanks for the great reply. I have been bowling for a few year but my first time on Ballreviews.com and it been very helpful.

Here more info about me and for the first few year I alway bowled the small hook becuase I could used the dry outside line but the outside line is not there anymore. I average around 180 with no improvement with the smaller hook.

This year I started to bowling a bigger hook throwing across the middle. I stand around 30 board and used the third and second arrow. I could see myself improve with the shot but I feel like I need some new Equpiment.

Right now, I'm using the fear factor for my oil shot and a polish rock on for my dryer shot. My problem with the fear factor is I leave so many 10 pin, it also roll out and won't finish. I have a slow to medium speed, medium to lower revs.

I'm thinking about getting the rule or the rule GP2.
I'm worry the rule will roll out on me just like the fear factor.
any other opinion from all the pro that could help me?

Is the FF rolling too early and burning out, causing the 10 pins, ot is it just going to far down the lane before making its break, leaving the 10s. If its buring early, then a GP2 with out of box (OOB) surface would probably be too much for you as well, so you may want to look at the Rule. If the FF is going to long, then think about the GP2, as it will get into an earlier roll for you. Can't go wrong with either ball though!

Hey Danny, is this the original black Rock? If it is, you have 2 pretty high load particle balls which like to roll early and stay controlled on the backend by design. This could explain why you're seeing some corners because you're not getting enough energy retention on the backend.

Both the GP2 or the Rule can offer more backend strength than these 2 balls but the Rule being resin will store more power for you naturally.

Which tournament was this? I've bowled quite a few, I was President of the Oakland chapter for a couple of years. Did I bowl good or did I stink up the bowl?..

I really agree with clint. I think my fear factor is burning out and not finishing but I try polishing the ff and it just keep rolling out and not finishing either. I know the ff is not design for a big break.

Rick, I'm have the blue rock on with a lot polish. I want the ball to go long and then break. I leave a lot of coner pin with my rock on too and it just don't hit that hard. Maybe because is a very old ball.

Rick, I think it was chinese tournement in VEGAS. I can't remember how you bowled but i didn't bowled very well. All i can remember is the lane was sooooo dry a house ball will hook like the track rule. ^_^

Fear Factor and GP2 are both aggressive particle covers, while the RUle is an aggressive reactive cover. NONE of my aggressive reactive cover balls try to roll as early as my particles, its just their nature. Obviously, you can drill a reactive to roll early, but it still probably won't be as much as a particle. I would worry LESS about the Rule reactive rolling out (burning out) on you than the particle Rule GP2.

The boys have taken care of you well. I think the Rule is definately the better solution than the GP2. The GP2 will more than likely end up beeing too strong. The Rule's cover adjusts well if need be and it is a very consistant ball.

If you have slow to medium speed and your using a fear factor and it is rolling out a Rule or GP2 are out of the question here. Let's use our heads here. You have a Rock that is leaving a lot of corners. If ever a cover burned out early (tec death) the Rock and Chaos would be the winners. So what I would suggest would be an X-ception with a pin above finger drilling. Why?

1.You will be able to stay more to the right and have a better entry angle.

2.You will have more back end to get out the corners.

3.The x-ception has phenomenal carry

4.It is a good choice (step-down) when the Fear Factor starts to burn up.

5.This just might be the ball to start with but will not negate you Fear Factor.

Use common sense when purchasing a ball. This sounds more like a ball that would be of use to you. The newest big-hooking ball is not always the answer or is a real weak drill on one as you do not take advantage of the weight block.
