I was wondering how to drill the Kinetic...I want it to go long and turn very hard! This needs to be the ultimate skid/snap! Here's my info:
18-19mph
450-500 rpm
PAP: 3 3/4" over, 0 up
Ball specs are:
15.2 gross
3-4" pin
2.5 TW
I do not want to change the surface just yet, and since I track so low, I don't want a x-hole, but I can leave that up to my driller. I was thinking a 5 x 3 1/2 pattern with the pin over the middle finger, but am open to other sugesstions. The way the Pin/CG/MB line up, drilling 5x4 would hit more of the mass bias than I want, but I'm just an amateur. I need some professional advice...Carl? Anyone?
Thanks

Go with the 5x4. Do not be afraid of hitting the MB, it will not affect the ball. Do to the low track though I almost want to tell you to put the pin at 4 1/2- 4 3/4. What do most other 5inch pin to pap balls do for you?

I have a Strike Zone drilled 5 x 3 1/2...It goes very long with a strong flip/arc an the backend. Never had any trouble with it, and I didn't have to put an x-hole...

I decided to drill this this 5 1/2 x 4. This thing gets some of the most effortless length that I have ever gotten, probably because of the drill pattern.
This thing touches dry, goes another foot, and takes off. Great carry and entry angle. The only problem I have is that it is kind of touchy on speed whn sending it outside. Also, doesn't like oil at all, but I didn't want it for that.
There has been a lot of OB on the house shot lately due to a lane resurfacing, but once it wears off, I think this ball will be a killer!

bigearv,
Once you get more games on the Kinetic and wear in the polish a tad it will not be as sensative to the oil.....BUT it does not lose the backend movment either.

ericob,
What you have seen is what I have seen. Remember one thing though, we are all bowling on different conditions.

ok, that's good to know...I don't want to lower the surface, since I like the length...but I want a tad more predictability...maybe if nothing happens soon with it, i will try 4000 abralon and see how thigns happen...man, i need a spinner!
