Don't bash the Robo yet..think about this!
« on: November 10, 2005, 02:50:32 AM »
Guys...think about this before you dismiss the Robo before seeing it....

How many of you had the Phenom and Phenom Unleashed at the same time? I did, in fact, had a few of each at the same time...what were the differences? Phenom was a medium load Fang particle, Unleashed was a light load slightly different version of the Fang...pretty much like what the GP2 and Robo would sound like together. I know you are saying the Delta is there, but so was the Freak, Freak Out, Mutant, and Super Freak when those balls were intorduced, and later the Animal and Animal Untamed....

I for one like a light load particle in the asymmetric line...we really have not had a solid particle light load since the Unleashed 2 years ago and look how great that ball turned out!

Clint,

I understand where you are coming from. I just think that Track could have made a more "complete" high performance line by introducing an asymmetric ball for lighter conditions. I understand that the asymmetric cores are strong and may be too strong to make a ball for anything less than med/light. But, imagine a ball that goes as longer than the Xception and then has such a sharp move on the backend it is almost like a 90 degree turn. I want to see something for med/light with the ultimate skid/snap reaction.

They could market this ball as the "most angular ball in ball manufacturing history!!"

That would be sweet!!

FWIW, I may not agree with them releasing another ball for "heavier" conditions, but I will probably end up owning one as I do with all other Track balls!!

Although I have not seen the core...if it is new and is as intriguing as it sounds, I am sure you will.

Like I said before, I see your guys point. But, it is hard to make an asymmetrical ball go very long without a weak cover and weak core, and Track asymmetricals all have power behind them, as do all of the cores.

Plus, with the Heat, Solution Ex, and Desert...there are already some choices out there at a great price point, although not asymmetrical, but they probably don't want to flood that area and kill the sales for those balls-pure speculation on my part.

Clint is correct with the unleashed and phenom.  I had an unleashed and it was awesome.  I wish I had another one NIB.  I wouldn't bash this ball because it's great to have choices.

Track you still need to make an animal with the peak particle cover.  You can call it the animal arsenal.

On a side note, I would like to see some more med to light oil balls in the future.  My reason for this is because a lot of lane conditions that are being put out now are lighter oil.  Look at sport shots.  A lot of sport conditions are on the drier side.

Nobody wants to pay $200 for a drier lane ball.  Hook sells.

I didnt bash the ball in any way, so dont get it twisted. I am sure the Robo-Rule will be a great ball. I was simply stating that maybe Track could have attempted at making a complete high performance asymmetrical line by releasing something weaker than the Xception.

DP3, I understand that hook sells. At no point did I say that a high performance asymmetrical for med-light conditions wouldnt hook. I also stated that if they produce and market a ball with insane backend for med-ligh conditions, it would sell very well.

Nonetheless, as stated, I am sure a Robo-Rule will find its way into my arsenal at some point. I guess we will just have to wait and see!!

Rock- My bashing was not directed at you, but just the comments in general that I have been hearing from MANY people....just want people to give the ball a chance before dissing it. Sorry if you thought this was directed at you only, because it is NOT.

Sorry again for any misunderstanding!

Clint, no need for apology. I wasnt directing my post at you. Just making a general statement about how alot of people arent seeing where I am coming from with this release. Like I said, I am sure this ball is going to be a fantastic ball, I just wish they would release a weaker ball in the high performance line, thats all.
