Which is better for the GP2: Clean N' Smooth or Clean N'Sheen
« on: October 11, 2005, 06:44:30 AM »
I recently got a used GP2 and I want to restore it as close to box finish as possible.  I was thinking of sanding it down to 320 grit then either applying Clean N' Smooth or Clean N' Sheen.  Would this get it to box finish??  Or should I use abralon pads to get it to 1000-1500 grit surface.

Any advice would be most helpful.

I'd say Clean and Dull ... but I'm curious to what the knowledgable TRACKERS in here would say to that and to what wet sand grit to use.

Wrong. Clean N Dull is just a cleaner and will not change the surface.

If I remember correctly, I beleive Clean N Sheen takes the surface to around 1000-1200 grit and a very light polish. Not sure about clean N Smooth, but I think it finishes a little higher grit than CNS.

OOPS ... I stand corrected!!! Actually, I simply neglected to add Clean and Sheen to polish it AFTER using Clean and Dull to thoroughly clean it(since you got it used).
Thanx, "Legend" ... I'll make sure that I review my content for completeness PRIOR to sending out any replies.

My GP2 I shot 813 out of the box with is now retired, but as a test, I used a grey scotchbrite to clean it up for display and it *looks* very close to out of box to me.

Hey dpunky,

Our Clean and Sheen is at 1000 grit and our Clean and Smooth is at 1500.  If you want a little more length then use the Clean and Smooth.

To return out of box, Clint's suggestion is good to use the grey pad.  I went with a 600 and Clean and Dull to make it a true hook monster.
