Not trying to put Track down but has AM ever won on the PBA Tour with Track equipment?  Looking at his profile, he hasn't won since 1997...that's a LONG drought!

If your livelihood depended upon how well you bowl and you haven't won in a long time with a certain company's equipment, wouldn't you be inclined to "look around" for something that might work better?  I know I would.

On the other hand, maybe since AM hasn't won in so long, do you think that maybe Track asked him to "move on" but allowed him to "save face" by saying that he "resigned"?  Would be a classy move on Track's part especially for not "firing" a Hall of Famer.

Just a couple of thoughts...

AM did very well when the Triton line was first introduced.  Track was certainly very good for him at that point...if I remember correctly, the Triton Heat was especially good for him.

In regards to his career from '97 forward...I have no idea why he hasn't won since then.  Perhaps he doesn't like particle equipment?  Maybe he's gotten older and things don't come as easily for him physically anymore?  Maybe he's struggled with the new PBA patterns or tournament format?  Purely speculation, but for a guy that's 43 and is averaging $50,000 a year over the last three years, he seems to be doing okay.  It's not because Track equipment is inferior that he has struggled...but, if Track did ask him to "move on", I'm sure they would do that in a classy manner, as that seems to symbolize the policies of the company in general.

He's always was and is still in great condition!

I believe he is more of an area bowler than a precision guy, also has had some bad luck on TV in not advancing a bunch of times!

i remember on and old version of the strikepass round of 16 or 8 on the pba site, baldo was talking to flemming and amleto, and asked amleto pretty much the question you asked about not winning in so long. Both said that amleto was used to bowling the way it was when he was throwing black udots, hammers, and rhinos. That instead of switching balls when he should, he would try to change speed, hand position, etc. and thus cost him in tournaments.
