Why would he say that? I haven't seen anything bad about them on this site.

If you like knowing what type of core or coverstock the ball you throw has, don't buy a Bonanza. If you want to throw this ball in a USBC tournament or league, don't buy a Bonanza. If your driller doesn't know how to weigh/drill a ball to keep it within legal specs, don't buy a Bonanza.

My point is this... If you like experimenting with different layouts and so forth go for one of these balls and save some dough in the process. Just remember that not all Bonanzas are legal for sanction play. The box my test ball came in has no ABC/WIBC label so I'd guess it is not legal for sanction play.

I love grab-bags. And I've got a good pro-shop guy that can take care of the drilling. So, as long as I get the ball within a reasonable time after I pay for it, I'll be happy.
