Clean'n'Sheen Vs. Clean'n'Smooth
« on: November 27, 2006, 10:48:11 AM »
Can someone please tell me the difference?  CSheen says 300-1100 and CSmooth says 1500, but CSmooth is more coarse and leaves the ball duller?????

i noticed the same thing.  and the clean and smooth made it more
dull and out on the lane it hooked more(smooth arc)  the clean and sheen wasnt
as dull and read the midlane good with a slight pop on the back.  i took
my storm razor wire and hit it with the clean and smooth and then the
clean and sheen.  it left me with a good smooth med light oil ball not jumpy
on the back.  i hit my Roto grip RSX with just the clean and sheen and it gets
down the lane good with good midlane read and a slight pop on the back.  i threw
both balls tonite.  shot 638.  212 with the razor wire first game and the second
it started its move a little early.  so i switched to the RSX and on same line
(15-8), it got a little bit longer with a little pop on the back.  finished 202
second game.  threw the RSX the third and went 224.  but even though it says
the C.smooth is 1500, i think its lower than that.  the balls were too much
with just using that.

That's what I'm wondering, hopefully we'll hear from a veteran staffer on this.

Clean n Sheen is a compound....it gives that grit under the compound finish. The grit of the finish you end with is determined by the spinner speed you use and the pressure you use as well.

Clean n Smooth is a much "grittier" substance. On slow speen on the spinner and little pressure you will get 1500....but if you put the spinner on high speed then you will get closer to 2000...but with no polish or compound.

Exactly what Carl has stated...Clean and Sheen is the replication for the balls that we list as "compound" finish.

From my personal experience, I agree with Carl and Rick about Clean & Sheen. It is also designed to smooth out sanding lines from 500-600 grit sanding. It leaves, with enough spinner work, the equivalent of 1000 grit compound finish. FYI it is almost exactly half-way, in appearnace between a matte finish and gloss polish.

Clean and Smooth puts a 1500 grit smooth or matte finish on a ball, IF you start with a 1000 or better yet, a 1200 grit sanding, or dare I say, a Clean and Sheen'd compound finish. yet, if you apply too much pressure for too ling a period on a spinner, you will get an almost polished look to it. That's a sure sign you went too darn far!!!
