I punched out a new Arsenal Reactive last week. I have not nearly thrown it enough to do even a mini-review, but I was so happy with what I saw, I am reporting it to you. Was looking for something with a heavy roll throughout the lane. With my end over end roll, anything with a medium rg rolls early for me, and with this ball being a LOW RG, I was really up in the air about how to drill it. Ball came in with 4 inch pin, 2 ounces of top weight. Decided to drill the ball with factory surface, pin centered about 2 inches above fingers, cg centered about 2 inches below the fingers.
Ball is a super heavy rolling ball. The pin that high up above the fingers and being roughly 4 3/4 from the PAP, delays the roll for me just enough. Ball scoots through the heads pretty clean and makes a nice move for a dull reactive, super low Rg ball. Destroys the pins, but what Track ball does not.
I was wanting to throw it more, but last Saturday I got on a roll with my GP2 and shot 300 and then Sunday I statrted with my new Aggressive and put 299 on the board the first game....so not much other testing time was available.
From the few throws I had with it, the Reactive looked like it got through the heads like my Aggressive does with a more defined move at the breakpoint.
I will be back when I have had more chances to throw the ball (probably Thursday).
10/20 as able to sneak out on my night off from the pro shop and take Clint Jr and Wes to the alleys with me to bowl. Since there is only a little ladies league, my buddies had lots of time and I got them to oil a lane for me. We left the shot on the lane from the mixed league Tuesday night (carrydown) and put the Classic League Shot on top of it WITHOUT stripping the lane. Brought down my Blue, Aggressive, GP2, Delta, and Reactive. I had put Clean N Sheen on the Blue and it glazed up and also hit the Delta with Clean N Sheen and then Delayed Reaction...needless to say on this condition both balls were marbles and never turned over. GP2 and Aggressive were decent...had to play pretty straight and not miss wide (10 and 10 with the GP2 and 8 and 8 with the Aggressive)....inside held due to the volume of oil from the Classic League shot and carrydown. Then I pulled out the Reactive. Stood where I was with the GP2 and tripped out a high 4 pin. Threw again thinking I was slow or just hit the ball really hard....another trip 4. Moved 2 left with feet and eyes (now 12 and 12) and WAM....pocket ripper! After a few 230s with the GP2 and Aggressive...I went 245-278(last 10) with the Reactive. Ball had more room wide, better recovery.....I think partly the ball and partly the drill.
Still not enough games to do a review, or really even a mini review, but this ball was AWESOME on a heavy shot with carrydown...great recovery!
