Did the hot tap water and Dawn detergent but also have not tried it with Clean and Dull. Good idea, guess I'm going to have to try it out.

Just some random thoughts -
* C&D being a LOT more expensive than Dawn is likely to be an expensive test. If you have a quart size hanging around, I wonder how much you'd need?
* Does everyone sand the ball to 320/400 grit before doing any extended de-greasing soaking?
(I ask because this procedure seems to work best with both Ebonite's Hook Again and Columbia's CPR.)
* If I were to prepare a ball for soaking, I'd sand with 320 grit, using Clean and Dull instead of water as the lubricating agent.

Just like hand grenades and horse shoes, in bowling you only have to get close ...

I've also tried the bucket of hot water, but w/out dawn. You can see the oil creep up to the top of the bucket. Works like magic. After about 10 minutes, I remove the ball and take a sponge pad with a little dawn and clean the ball off. Tried this a couple of months ago as an experiment with most of my equipment. Pretty neat stuff.
I haven't tried Clean N' Dull in a bucket of water yet. As an experiment, why not put a couple of capfulls in the bucket of water and tell us how it goes? Good luck!
