Here's the deal- I'm starting a sport shot trios league this coming Thursday in a house 45 minutes away from me. The surface is synthetic (Brunswick Anvilane) and the league is planning on putting out 6 different patterns (3 short, 3 long). I want to make sure I bring the right equipment for the long patterns, and I have 3 Track balls currently in my arsenal. The way I have each of these laid out is in my profile- my plan was to bring 2 of the 3 Track balls and leave one at home as I want to make sure to bring a variety of medium and light oil offerings as well.

I'm thinking of bringing the Animal (currently at 600 grit) for the floods and the Slash to handle medium-heavy and medium shots (slightly polished). Or would you bring the Animal and Rule based on my specs in my profile?

I plan on bringing 7 balls (6 and a spare ball) and I want to make sure I have a variety of equipment at my disposal (thus the need for the Absolute Inferno, VP2, Panic and Target Zone in the bag...).

Matt-

I'd agree with Ex on both counts.  I prefer the Slash over the Rule on tougher conditions, and it's also very important to be throwing the equipment you feel the most comfortable with.  If you don't have 100% confidence that you're going to be successful with what you're throwing, then you're really putting yourself behind the 8-ball before you get started!

Hey Matt,

I also like Ex's choices because the Animal will cover the heavy shot well and the Slash is a little smoother for the drier condition.  However, I think you answered your own question...
