having a new track in my arsenal..
« on: August 03, 2006, 02:14:26 PM »
hi i would like to ask something on this forum..i'm having a bit of bad luck lately..
my dry lane ball,Columbia300 Scout R/Particle cracked..my benchmark ball, Storm Fatal El-Nino's,reaction died off..leaving only my heavy oil ball, Columbia300 Bully, in my arsenal..
so my driller asked to try Track, and gave me Animal..cuz my ball speed is fast with slow rev.. so i should be able to use it for medium oil, if i slow down my speed.. and to use it for dry lane, i can juz use my normal speed..

finally, after the whole story, i wanna ask if Track Animal is a good benchmark ball?
as suggested by my driller, i should stand at 10 boards and release at 5 boards. n it works!! cuz usually i'm standing at 11 boards n releasing at 5 boards for my Bully.

carlin lee,

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone calling the Animal a Benchmark ball. For most people it is a heavy oil ball. I guess it really depends on your game.

One comment though....the Animal is a GREAT BALL. It is versatile and takes to cover stock adjustments really well.

GOodluck,
Carl

I asked a reputable "guru" here in BallReviews last fall to evaluate my arsenal, which at that time had a TRACK Animal, and he considered it "my benchmark ball ... albeit a strong one" and I tended to agree.
Now, in reference to the previous thread, I trust Carl and his recommendations for the TRACK Legion members ... and before I sold my TRACK equipment and overhauled my arsenal, I PMed him frequently for advise and for counsel; he, along with Rick and Clint, and a few other TRACK Legionnaires, are GREAT guys ... passionate about the game, VERY knowledgeable, passionate about BR, about getting better, and about doing whatever they can to assist people that solicit their aid.
Good luck to you !!!

Carl: Ya this ball is very versatile i agree..

oh ya i forgot to add in.. because my Bully was drilled to go longer with the pin above the fingers and the cg on the right of the center. so the Animal comes in just nicely with the usual house oiling of about 35 boards.

i've been using strong balls even for medium oiling, because of my slow rev and fast speed.
so what kinds of lanes do u think my Animal will be good for? it drilled with a 1:30 drilling with the pin under the ring finger..

Where would you have the MB (core shaped engraving) placed on that layout?

according to the drilling patterns on trackbowling.com, the MB is at position 2 and the pin is at position 1, as according to the high track drilling
