Title: Havoc vs. Triple Threat
Post by: erh300 on March 04, 2004, 11:51:18 PM
Has anyone had a chance to compare the Havoc to the Triple Threat? I have a TT now and have been considering a Havoc. Just wondering how they stack up to each other. Thanks.

Hi ERH,

Comparatively, my Havoc is much more ball then my Triple.  My TT was drilled about 4x3 pin over ring and my Havoc is 4x 2.75 mb (past val) and pin under ring, both left at out of box condition.  My TT actually skidded thru oil very well and had a very sharp finish on the backend while my Havoc reads the midlane in heavier oil and has more of a strong arc to the pocket.  Please keep in mind that the 2 balls are drilled differently but in this positioning, I see the Havoc at least about 4-5 boards stronger then my TT.  If you're looking for a stronger ball, the Havoc would be an excellent choice.  Can't beat it for the price....hope this helps.

One thing to be aware(as discussed in a previous thread), this ball appeared to be a little more sensitive (in my opinion) to the various drill patterns then some of the others.  If you drill it to go long...it will.  If you drill it to hook..it will also do that.  You may be getting some conflicting replies here but this was just my input.

ERH

I think tenpinspro is RIGHT ON as far as the reaction of the Havoc. Just listen to it.

Before laying out your Havoc, determine the surface you will be using it.  The TT is pearl particle and therefore when put to the same surface as the Havoc, The TT will be slighly earlier and a little smoother.  The Havoc will still be stronger downlane.
