Heat Blast
« on: December 29, 2006, 04:28:42 PM »
I've been looking a long time for a replacement for my Oyster/Blue original Columbia Wicked. Would the Heat Blast be a good choice? The numbers are almost dead on for a 15lber. Any thoughts?

Close...I believe the Wicked Oyster Blue...hooks a touch more on the back.

But I like the Heat Blast look on the lanes also.

The heat blast is a dream ball if all you need is a smooth and hard hitting reaction not getting any deeper than the 10-15 boards.

Hey Tony,

Agree with LL here that the Wicked is stronger compared to the Blast.  The ball closer to the Wicked and maybe a touch stronger (but can easily be reduced) is our Solution PP (pur/blue).

I would say that the EX at 1000 is almost dead even with reaction to the wicked. The wicked never started up as early as the solid solution. Yet the solution ex is just a hair long with the oob prep. The ex at 1000 is alot like the wicked imo.

Thanks guys you've been really helpful. I love my Wicked but it has developed a crack that may make fixing impossible. I have tried in vain to find another Wicked. There was new one on ebay a while back but it went extremely high so I decided to try to find the closest ball for a replacement.

Scoot, I think you're thinking of the Wicked B/R/T (red/blk), Tony said this is the Oyster/Blue one which was the stronger version.
