Heat Blast First Impressions
« on: February 07, 2006, 11:35:52 AM »
Hey FASTTRACKERS,

My Heat Blast finally arrived in the pro shop today and I wanted to give my first impressions on the ball when I used it in practice tonight.

Track Heat Blast
Weight: 15#
Pin: 3"
Top Weight: 2.75 oz

Layout:
60 X 4 1/2 X 40 Pin Up. Pin is at a 1 o'clock angle to my ring finger.

I wanted a similar layout to my Desert Heat so I could get a good comparison/contrasting of the two. The shot I had was medium oil with a pretty good bit of carry down. To sum it up in a nutshell, I played this ball at mostly direct angles; although, I could play it about 4 boards deeper than the Desert Heat. I tried playing really deep angles and at normal speed the ball slid most of the way and didn't check up. With slower foot speed however, I was able to get a reaction back to the pocket. I'm wanting to try it on a fresh shot with clean back ends and see what kind of a read I get with it then, but these are my first observations. It is definitely sure to get some play in league tomorrow night, I will put together a video package for all to see in the next few days. I have been able to get some pictures of the ball for everyone to see, just by clicking on the link below...I would also like to know where you guys believe this will fit in my arsenal, opinions, thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated! Have a great week and God Bless you all!

Hey FASTTRACKERS,

Figured I'd give an update on how the Heat Blast has reacted. To say the least, I haven't been able to put it to much use because I haven't found a consistent reaction lane condition to throw it on. I decided to try and put it to work in my serious league tonight and washed out miserably, of course, the lanes were nothing like they were last week. I'm gonna give it a good practice session tomorrow and see how it reacts, but right now..the outlook is NOT good..but its very early and this is NOT my final conclusion yet...just letting you guys know what it is doing so far...God Bless you all and have a great week!

I don't think this ball was designed for fresh oil. I think its a second shift ball. Thats what I have read about it. I have a NIB one sitting here by me and thats what I am drilling it up for.. Light oil and 2nd shift..

Michael,

I have found the Blast to be awesome on fresh shots. What you may need to do is use the ball a bit to wear a bit of the polish off.

On any house shot I have been able to line up confidently. It has without question been my "go to" ball the last few weeks. My review will be coming soon.

Hey Carl,

That's what I'm thinking as well, when it first came in last Tuesday night, the first thing that caught me was how polished this ball was out of the box...so, we shall see very soon...fixing to take it to the lanes for practice today...will update soon, God Bless you all!
