My results from polishing a GP2.
I hit my 3rd GP2 with lots of Magic Shine, as I wanted to see how much of an effect it would have on the ball and how well would the Goo Particle cover take the cover change.
All I can say is WOW! As you probably already know, this polished GP2 is drilled identical to the GP2 I shot 813 with, pin under ring, cg in palm, mass bias left of the thumb. The polished GP2 goes much further down the lane and makes a much sharper turn than the dull version, which is obvious from the cover change.
However, for comparison details, I brought my OOB surface Animal, polished Rule, and OOB surface Xception that are all drilled IDENTICAL to the GP2. The GP2 had about the same breakpoint as the Animal, but was stronger on the backend. The polished Rule went a little further than the GP2, and had about the same backend reaction. The only noticeable difference was with the Xception, as it went a few feet further down the lane and turned harder than the polished GP2 ever thought of doing.
Overall, I think I could make a 3 ball arsenal out of the 3 GP2s I have. They cover all but the shorter and lighter oil patterns VERY well. The league bowler could probably carry 2 GP2s and have almost everything they will see in one league night covered.
