Asymmetrical/ Female
« on: February 08, 2006, 03:12:12 AM »
About a month ago my wife's Rule had to be replaced. She wanted her new Rule to be drilled up like my Rule so it would roll about the same. I was thinking, this is not going to work due to her slower ball speed and other factors. I think a lot of drillers have this same mind set and therefore keep the MB very close to the thumb to avoid hooking too much or rolling out in some cases. This question was put to Rick, Clint and Carl. They all responded that they would not at all be afraid to move the MB in the strong position or stack drill for women.

Starting weight was 14.4 pounds with 2 3/4 top weight and 3" pin. The drill is stacked with pin 3 1/2" to pap and 4" down to MB and small weight hole to bring the side weight to 3/4 finger 1/8 and 1/2 top. This ball hits like it a truck and does what it was designed to do. I put a light shine on the Rule with clean and sheen to get the ball through the heads and play the dry outside. My wife has another ball that she loves but is not asymmetrical. Drilled her up a Blue Heat with pin right of ring finger and has 1/8 thumb weight matched up with 3/8 side weight. The Blue Heat gets into a roll early for her and allows her to play the inside line, where the oil is most of the time. The Blue Heat flat out performs her Phenom Unleashed, but again the Phenom has a weaker MB position.

After my wife rolled her new Rule with the new drill she said " Now that is what I am talking about". So if the female bowler in your life wants a good rolling ball don't be afraid to move the MB on asymmerical's to a stronger position. Trust me.
